A Tribute -2- Aaliyah
This site is a tribute to Aaliyah. Her life was tragically taken on Saturday, August 25th of the year 2001. She was leaving the Bahamas from shooting a music video for a song on her self named album. But shortly after take off, the plane bust into flames. Killing her and the eight other passengers onboard. |

~ Aaliyah's Life ~
Aaliyah led a very full life. At the young age of 16, she was married to R&B singer, R. Kelly. And two years before that, she had her first CD out. So from a very young age, this gurl was very popular. And just now, she was at the peak of her career, with a self titled album out and she was chosen to be in the sequel of the Matrix. But now, she can't, but she can still be an angel, above us. |

Reports are now saying that the pilot, Luis Morales, was starting his first day on the job and that he had pleaded "no contest" to possession of crack cocaine just two weeks prior. In additon, apparently the plane was 700-800 pounds overweight at take-off. Whatever the cause, it remains a stunning loss to the music world - such a bright young star on the horizon. How sad to see her body coming home in a white cardboard coffin. However, once back in the States, Aaliyah received a fairy-tale send-off: Her casket was carried through the streets of New York last Friday in a glass-paneled carriage drawn by two cream-colored horses. After the funeral, 22 white doves -- one for each year of her life -- were released into the sky.
